Repairs & Restringing
We offer a restringing and repair service and recommend that pearls and beads be restrung every few years. Jewellery strung on silk thread is prone to stretching and less noticable fraying which can cause the thread to break. Jewellery strung on nylon coated steel wire, often called Tigertail, and fastened with crimps will also loosen over time.
We can professionally restring all kinds of pearl and beaded jewellery on silk thread, chord, or nylon coated steel wire, restoring your jewellery to its original state.
The cost of repairs will vary and prices quoted will be based on assessment of the piece and the comlpexity of the repair. Simple repairs can be completed the same day while others, such as pearl restringing, may require the jewellery being returned within a week. If we feel that after assessment that the piece is not repairable then it may be possible to use the remaining components to produce a new design.
